understanding your table image and how villain might perceive you would help here. if your image is a little passive and villain's is aggro, i think your line is reasonable. if you and villain were more aggro, i would three bet the flop and/or bet the turn. as played, i think you will run into two pair type hands or a set of threes often enough here to call. (villain is most likely making a thin value bet on the river, though it's entirely possible he is making this play with air if you believe his c/r on the flop was a steal and he views your turn check as weakness). i think raising the river is -ev.

if i had to pick one flop that i seriously would not need to raise all the time, it would probably look a lot like this one

I think this is a good flop to flat call on just becuase there is only one draw out there. If the turn wasnt a Q or 7 id be happy to get it in on the turn. I like the turn check, but now you have to call because two pair or 333 is just as likely as hands that beat you.

This guys a LAG his range is, 9-10, two pair, 333.
The flop call is fine as you have posistion and its not a drawy board, as for the turn i think you should bet more times than not but it's not a terrible move to check.
River instant call.

How aggro is your image? It sounds like you guys think Apathy is only getting paid off with 333. If you are only getting paid off with 333 your image isn't that aggro.

I think he would probably get paid off by 2 pair, but the chance of the straight or JJJ is fairly big imo, but folding seems ridiculous to me.

JAcks really arent even a possible holding imo for the villian, basically I have the nuts on the flop.

his overcall preflop makes me think this is 333 more than JJJ, QQQ, or KKK. so call. but he's got one of those most of the time fer sure.

Ya...I always assume someone has a set when I do. That's
the secret to my success. Seriously how has no one made fun of this claim?
