I really doubt KK/AA typically has the balls to raise that river. You have to be either very smart or very stupid, and most players don't fall into these categories.

I don't know villain in this particular hand but your only beating a bluff on the river. If you think he's likely to look you up with air than call. So given your read I am calling this river.

I'm usually checking the river though and not betting it, what are you really expecting to get called by that your beating? (only AT really)

I expected to get called by as bad as 77-88 on the river. I did say he doesn't tend to give me a lot of credit for hands, and that's my reason for betting the river. Once again, feel free to disagree, but I think it's a bluff MAJORITY of the time on the river. You're saying I'm only beating a bluff, but what real hands raise river that play preflop, flop, and turn this way?

I agree there aren't that many hands that get to the river like this, perhaps maybe a slowplayed AA/KK.

If villain calls with 77/99 as well (88 has a set) than you should obviously bet the river. It sounds like this villain isn't that good at all.

interesting point but I think decent players rarely check/call the flo in this spot in my place.
