Default Re: EAGLES NFC EAST CHAMPS

I understand that the Giants got lucky in the 1st game and Philly was the better team. I also think people are overcompensating for that with "Marino > Elway because of Terrel Davis" type of silly logic.

Lets say Philly wins that game, so each team is 5-3. Give Philly a win @Tampa too, so call it 6-2. So Philly is 1 game better right now. Yet the Giants still beat Dallas much more convincingly away than Philly did at home (plus the Eagles had incredible intangibles working in their favor that game). And we still haven't accounted for NYG getting pretty unlucky vs. Indy or playing a considerably tougher overall schedule to this point or Philly inexplicably crapping the bed in a supposed must-win home game against the Jaguars who were missing Stroud (arguably their best player).

IMO the Eagles have a 50/50 shot at best to win the division with the above 1-game lead scenerio. As played, they're done in the division.
FWIW - McNabb is the best QB in the NFC by a lot.

Agreed.

And I just had an Eagles fan tell me today that he couldn't wait until they got rid of "McChoke" and got a real QB...

Some Eagles fans are just rediculously ignorant.

And I'm a Giants fan.

Listen I'm not making a guarantee or anything. 40 percent chance or better seemed about right to me. They were paying 4 to 1 before todays game.

Do you still believe they are done, or did the eagles beating a crappy team and the giants losing to a good one change your opinion?

I think 4 to 1 sounds pretty good now, as the Eagles are big favorites this week and the Giants are dogs, and the Eagles still have them on the schedule obviously. They've certainly got the opportunity to make up the one game+tiebreaker deficit.

I guess he's overestimating Carolina and Atlanta? 9-7's not a bad guess though. There's not a game left that the Eagles can't win (or lose).

I would get rid of McChoke given his contract, and the fact that he is definitely a choker. The team had their chances, and he simply didnt perform when he needed to. Is he one of the top 5 QBs in the league? Obviously. But the time to win as an Eagle for him has gone by.

If you are gonna call people rediculously ignorant, you could spell the word right.

They will be underdogs in at least 3 of their remaining 4 road games, and if you know the NFL you know even the one @Wash will be far from easy. So they could win the games vs Caro and Atl (which will both also be tough games) and still finish 9-7.
