mayber you are a regular poster or a big player but i don't know that so i take you from what i know so far. how would you have played both these hands donkey or are you just another middle limit amateur. i'm new to 100/200 but have earned the bankroll from the notches just below to warrant my place there. how can you even be bothered to post the above? [/ QUOTE ] Custom, You are clearly new to this site so perhaps I should be easier on someone who isn't really aware of how things are typically done on 2+2 as chasing away new members is not really a good thing to do (though since you play the same games as me maybe it would be for me personally) That said, let me try and give you the perspective myself and probably many of the other regular contributors have here...you come to these forums and immediately make a few posting faux pas that would not have been made had you spent a bit of time reading other posts and seeing how the forums work. Specifically, you posted the same hands in a couple different forums which is generally overkill, and you posted the copy/pasted hand histories with absolutely nothing added, like your reads of the opponents, your image, pokertracker stats (if you use PT) etc. Hand Converter Check out that link and choose "2+2 format" for next time. Basically you have never contributed to 2+2, didn't bother to learn the standard protocols here (something that rarely happens for people posting 100/200 hands since they start at the micro stakes on 2+2 and work their way up and already know how everything works) and then posted two boring hands that are possibly questionable strategy-wise but mostly just bad beats and show a lack of understanding of the level of sophistication we would expect from a hand posted about a 100/200 game. And you expect us to give you high quality advice just like that - what's my motivation to help you get better? This is a give and take community and you are starting off on the wrong foot. I'm glad you worked your way up from the notches below and feel you belong in that stars 100/200 game but knowing nothing else about you, the fact that you asked whether the hands you posted were "played badly or just unlucky" is enough for me to believe you are not a favorite at stars 100/200. Maybe I'm wrong and if so, fine, but this is a forum dedicated to helping people make money at poker so my advice to you is don't play in this game if you like to make money at poker. -DeathDonkey |

i really dont see a problem with the flop check at all. hes generally way ahead and his opponents are folding without a king. let them catch up on a board where theres very few cards that will beat him. of course, my standard is to bet bc i like my hand and ppl like to call. at 1-2 ppl tend to be smarter tho and i would imagine even the fish realize that flop hits a lot of heros hands so they will be dissuaded from chasing. [/ QUOTE ] that's not true victor. i really don't like checking this flop. |

yeah i know, and what you say is valid and i get the whole metagame thing you're going for by checking behind with a made hand... but like bradl said, this isn't a good flop to do it on.
