Opps. I forgot to put the stakes in my OP. Yup, 2/4. And really my read on villain was very strong. After learning much of the basics of the game and such, the part of my game that held most room for improvement was putting opponents on a range of hands. But I feel I've gotten much better at that in the past few weeks. And my read on villain in this hand was basically smacking me in the face. I've never felt so confident about my opponents range as in this hand... I mean I folded AA! lol For one bet on the end in a hefty pot. Ed Miller adamantly suggest do not fold on the end for 1 bet w/ a decent hand in a large pot. I felt my hand was not even decent any more.

Read the thread.
I'm sure you're read was great. I'm certain you're beat as well. But I have to call that for (as you say) sanity's sake. I expect no ROI on the end, but I just gotta see. |

Good calculation! I would have raised here on the flop. But obviously, this would have been -EV. Great example for a situation where calling is actually better than raising.

I would pretty much never fold here. You played your hand very weakly postflop (which I think is OK), but in doing so you give you opponnent incentive to bluff and try to get you to fold a hand that ties/beats him.
Anyways combination wise on teh flop 1 combo of QQ, 3 of KK, and 6 of AK (don't know if AQ is in his 3 betting range from the blinds), IMO this is where the intersting decision would be. |
