Default Re: KTs - Blind Defense

Given all that, should I use some preplanning on the turn and decide to call down from his 3-bet? Is the value that I lose by not 4-betting him small enough compared to the value that I save by not having to call down his 5-bet (since I just can't let myself fold the second nuts in a pot that big!

Based on your read of villian, you're ahead of something like 80-90% of his 3-betting range. 4-betting the turn is correct.

If you really think the 5-bet means Ax[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] more than 7.5-1 of the time, then you should fold to the 5-bet.

FWIW, if you know you're dead to a 5-bet but you're going to [incorrectly] call down anyway, you should still 4-bet the turn if you're ahead at least 67% of the time (2/3 of the time you'll win a bet and 1/3 of the time you'll lose 2 bets). Since you're ahead much more than 67%, you need to 4-bet regardless of your plan from that point forward.

Maybe it's a leak but I would have played it like you did.
