Re: A lock for sunday (football)
I remember in 1998 picking the Vikings to beat the Panthers in week 1.
The Panthers smoked them and the Vikes ended up winning their last 15 while the Panthers lost their last 15 |

Re: A lock for sunday (football)
A horrible Bills team almost won last year at NE, losing 21-16. Another horrible Bills team opened the season with a 31-0 win over the eventual SB Champion Pats. I wouldn't call it a lock. I would go with Seattle or Arizona ahead of this game.
Actually, I wouldn't take Seattle either, because when I saw Detroit, they were resting alot of players, so I'm not really sure about them. Arizona it is. |

Re: A lock for sunday (football)
Arizona is horrible team to pick week 1. Despite all the hype about them this year, how sure are you going to be of a team that went 5-11 last year? Never get too high on a team based on the off-season and pre-season.
New England is the clear lock. At home against a pretty week Buffalo team. |

SF is one of the worst teams in the NFL. Arizona improved their running game with Edge. If I absolutely HAD to pick a winner though, going with a team that is getting 9.5 points is pretty smart. Survivor league, I'll take Arizona since they are less likely to be this big of a favorite later in the season when I might be forced to pick them. |

Picking San Francisco to lose a road game is probably the closest thing to a lock you can get. The pick has little to do with Arizona being good. |

So what if they are highly favored. They were a 5-11 team last year and the five teams they did manage to beat had a lowly combined record of 20-44. The most wins any team they beat had was 6. They couldn't even beat a .500 team. But sure...they're bound to be great this year!! |
