Re: Not Even Sure How To Title This
Yeah. Must've ruled out the aces without thinking here, on the same principle. Oops.

Re: Not Even Sure How To Title This
Okay, I think flop is pretty standard. For this price folding is just silly, but feel free to chime in if you disagree. I'm a calling station and get a major boner whenever I have a nice draw, so...
Flop is J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (pot is 1000) SB checks, BB bets 200, UTG raises to 400, MP2 folds, Hero calls, SB folds, BB calls. Turn is J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (pot is 2200) BB bets 200, UTG calls, Hero ??? |

Re: Not Even Sure How To Title This
I'd fold.
This is substantially a flush draw board, and one of the players probably has the ace. There are 40 combinations that are substantially ahead of you, and ~30 two pair that might amp up on the turn. You are not going to be two excited to see a spade, and if the str8flush comes, then you aren't going to make much more with a 1 card nut that shows strength on a 4 str8flush board. I am concerned that BB lead out and has the ability to raise. |

[/ QUOTE ] Nice flop call. Now a nice turn raise. All hell can obviously break loose if you do and who knows who is going to do what with what on this board but there are a ton of hands that are going to pay you off here and only A9s has you crushed. |

Re: Not Even Sure How To Title This
I'd raise turn to 2200.
Normally I'd raise slightly less, but I think we're getting action. |

Re: Not Even Sure How To Title This
I mangled the flop call. OK.
If BB flatcalls, when do we give him credit for a small flush? |

If BB flatcalls, when do we give him credit for a small flush? [/ QUOTE ] Besides the made nut flush, his range is about a million assorted 2 pair hands, top pair w/flushdraw kicker hands (K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], etc), or nut flush draw hands that may call our raise. We are insanely ahead of ranges right now. As for the river, if our turn raise is called, we have position and check behind if possible, or call any bet, as pretty much any river will be a scare card that he can rep (making a fold a mistake). JMO Edit: If one of them is playing a made baby flush this way, more power to them. They're taking a huge risk slowplaying it this way, and I just can't give credibility to that range... |

Re: Not Even Sure How To Title This
Agree here, and we can improve on river. I like the river.
If he shoves to the turn raise? How does this change the commitment to the hand then? You're either freerolling the river or suddenly his range got tighter than we'd like, no? Edit: Well, it's a micro, if I'm not mistaken. I don't expect most villains to play rationally, and I rely on their transparency. When a BB bets a monotone flop, especially in a micro, it rings an alarm bell. |

Re: Not Even Sure How To Title This
It's not a micro.
If you say to raise, name a number. This is infinitely more worthy of discussion than whether to raise or call. |
