This sounds more like a discussion about a no limit game.
Was the villain a frustrated no limit player? I love when they sit down waiting for the 500 game. With a few exceptions who are excellent players and readers, they don't like that they can't get you off a hand and will fold if you represent something better than their top pair. I've even seen one fold pocket aces to a lower overpair because he thought the guy hit a set.
