Yes, OP would certainly use a surprise approach when the perp was either walking to or from his building. This would be to decrease the chance of him grabbing a weapon to a small degree, but mostly it would be because he would almost certainly not open the door if given the choice.

I simply can not get over the anger I feel about this. It's like getting one outered for a huge pot to screw you once and then him having the nerve to go off on you regarding how bad you suck and how he owns you (sticking it to you TWICE and showing a complete lack of respect). I do not see how I can let this go. I have been pissed all day at work.

Although even if he went through with it he'd get caught almost immediatly thanks to his message board post about it, so hopefully he wouldn't post about it in that way too.
