A simple call preflop and going for set-value would've been better here, I agree.

[/ QUOTE ]
It isn't, just calling here is turning your hand into 22.

If your gonna raise PF, raise more. I would make it $4-5

Just calling here is fine.

I would proberly never ever bet this flop, not even if I was the PFR. Not with so many in it.

Obviously there are only two live kings, but at this level you see a lot of people playing Kx. So chances are this hit somebody.

See if you can get a free show down, or turn a 9.

If somebody bets here, I fold 100%.

(and FWIW I think I'd either make it $4 or just limp along, $2 is rarely going to be enough to get what you want here)

[/ QUOTE ]
$2 is perfectly consistent with the 4BB+1/limper guideline. I'd play it the same preflop, you very likely have the best hand, but it doesn't play well in a multiway pot so you raise for value and to thin the field (which didn't happen, but that's being results orientated).
[ QUOTE ]
With the big bet (I normally would bet $6-$8 here) I'm trying to convince everyone I have a King.

[/ QUOTE ]
This reasoning is horrible.

[/ QUOTE ]

No, $4 would be 4BB ($2) + 1BB per limper ($0.5x4). That should cut down the field.

This is a horrible situation I think you have the best hand though but it could get messy being OOP. I check and see what happens. You need to cut down the field

You're wrong, BB is 0.25, not 0.5.

He played it perfectly preflop, he couldn't know he was up against a bunch of calling stations.

A BB is $0.25 on this table...

Edit: too late

So I am assuming you are also doing this with 22, AQ, and any other hand you may have happened to raise preflop?

[/ QUOTE ]

Hm, good one. I'm not sure. AQ, maybe. 22 not (don't know why?). I just figured my 99 could still be good here...

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, but you said....

[ QUOTE ]
If I get called I think I'm behind and check/fold...

[/ QUOTE ]

So in reality, there is no way you are getting to showdown anyway. Even if your hand is best, you are just hoping that noone has a king, and will fold. It doesn't matter what you are holding.

You won't cut the field down by checking. And check raising is expensive. Just lead out, but like AJ said, there's no reason to make it $10... Make it smaller. Not only does it look like you have a K and are trying to rope others in, but it costs less.

[/ QUOTE ] doubtful these guys even ponder that. after u raise, cbet it about 1/2 - 2/3 pot probably give up after that, excluding a non-9 turn obviously
