I edited to specify the turn. But you're right technically a blocking bet is one where you are OOP, but I have adapted this play for my own use while in position to "block" river bluffs and bets from marginal hands to achieve a cheap showdown. [/ QUOTE ] A free card play, you mean?

i really dislike betting into this flop. assuming the blinds are 50/100, a cbet here leaves us with less than 9xBB which is somewhere we dont want to be (we're definitely folding to shove, right?) for this reason my default play is push pf; i have no problem with taking the blinds at this point. SB pushes back, I'm folding and looking for another place to double.
