I don't see the harm in continuing to handle it the way you're handling it. Unless she's bothering you? then you could be more direct. "I don't mean to be rude, but..." "
a) you're not really my type."
b) "I would never cheat on my g.f."
c) "I wish you'd stop hitting on me."
d) run abc together into one sentence/paragraph

another alternative - switch dog parks or times you take Smurfy to the park.
