Re: Ethical question, my daughter is a theif (poll)
1) anally rape clerk w/broomstick as he clearly deserves it
2) shut and lock the rolling front door after chucking a molotov cocktail into the store, having the wife man the back door with an automatic weapon to gun down any attempted escapees 3) enjoy your new card game! |

Re: Ethical question, my daughter is a theif (poll)
i voted yes because you obviously are questioning yourself about it a little bit. total accident as it was taken by a very young child. i would go and pay for it, but i am big on karma.

Call the manager tomorrow and tell him about your kid stealing the merchandise and the dickliness of the clerk making you not care to pay for it.

[ QUOTE ]
Had my 7 year old son been with us we certainly would have returned the game and accepted any consequnces (like paying for the $8 game) as a cost of setting a good example, but since the baby won't realize it we decided not to. [/ QUOTE ] Whats the point of setting a good example of something you wouldnt follow yourself? You should have taken it back and set an example for your wife and vice versa. rJ |

Re: Ethical question, my daughter is a theif (poll)
I voted no, but then when I read a respone I changed my mind.
Your daughter did not steal it because she doesn't understand concepts of right/wrong, laws, or private property, etc. HOWEVER you as a parent are responsible for your baby's actions when they are in such a state. You don't let your kid wander around and eat poison under the sink, becuase they don't know what poison is, likewise you can't let your kid grab items off shelves. So since you are responsible for your kid, you are responsible for the $8 or whatever the card game probably cost. |

Re: Ethical question, my daughter is a theif (poll)
So I guess all of those who voted no are going to take babies into stores and let them grab whatever.
Since the babies don't know what they are doing, they really aren't stealing anything are they? |

[/ QUOTE ] What I meant is that I don't think it's particularly wrong to steal a random card game from a toy store all by yourself, sans baby assist. |
