Look, I just heard the bad news from a party rep (I called and talked with a supervisor. As of next thursday anyone caught using a HUD or PT will have the doom switch thrown their way so hard it will simply make you cry like a little girl.

If this were true...don't you think there would have been 47 threads already going on this topic? [/ QUOTE ] Illogical - someone must hear it/post it first. |

Highly unlikely, Pokeroffice have an officially approved signup deal to give PO away through Party. They wouldn't do this if they wanted to ban it - and if PO is OK so is PT.

lets not forget that party is encouraging players to play more and more tables and more and more hands. Without programs like PT their numbers would drop drastically.

While working in a B&M poker room last night...He claims he's a pretty serious multi-tabler who plays A LOT and makes pretty significant money at Party. Of course he could be FOS ... [/ QUOTE ] Let me think this through. He's a serious multi-tabler at Party Who supposedly makes significant money Who decided to play B&M So he could pay 1.5-2x Party's rake and tip the dealer on top of that and tip the ladies with the drinkies on top of THAT And play a quarter the number of hands he would normally play (or less) And thereby kill his hourly rate And spend an hour driving And sit for hours smelling other B.O. besides his own I have a hard time adding this up. My mother has a friend whose husband is supposedly a big winner at blackjack. She likes to bring this up from time to time, as admittedly I was as not as successful counting cards as I am at counting outs. I said to her, "Do you want to know if he's full of beans or not? Just play dumb. Tell him that I struggled counting cards in the past. Ask him WHAT BOOK he'd recommend I read to improve." There was no recommendation made (including the admonition not to play the game at all). I then knew that in her midst was either one of the greatest genius gamblers born, or another delusional moron who might want to be a little more careful with the retirement nest egg. Find a harmless sounding question to ask this guy*, and he'll either give you a well-considered answer, <or> one that betrays his myth of being a killer online while mysteriously running bad inside the walls of Calamity Cardroom. He'd win if only...if only...if only. *If he flunks a test such as what the usual game selection is like at his preferred limit....hmmm. There ARE people who win big in public cardrooms. They are the ones discussing other topics. Possibly including, but not limited to where to find cheap gas. |

[/ QUOTE ] There are a lot of 2+2ers (and I'm sure other players as well), who are online multi-tablers, but also enjoy playing poker at B&Ms. I see nothing wrong with this. I'm not saying the tidbit about getting PT banned is true; I'm just saying just because someone's playing at a casino, that doesn't imply they suck online. |

I'm not saying the tidbit about getting PT banned is true; I'm just saying just because someone's playing at a casino, that doesn't imply they suck online. [/ QUOTE ] I agree completely. Mostly where I'm coming from is that the people I've observed to be the best players in B&Ms are quiet about their success; and when they DO admit to playing online, they don't have much to say about it. I strongly believe that the people who are making money in this world do so quietly. Personally I think it's bad policy to tell everyone at the table what a big winner you are unless there is some special table image you are trying to pinhole. And I think that most people who would like you to perceive themselves as winners aren't; those who are winners are already doing things to camouflage this to you and make it appear that it is not so. Discussing the tools of the trade and the means of a successful online TAG does not add up to the image I'd usually like to foster at the table. |
