The difference, of course, is in the attitude: Obviously you will be looking very differently at the record of someone who shrugs and says "I did some generally boring/safe military service stateside" and someone who invests millions of dollars to paint himself as a war hero of the first order.

Cut my taxes and kept the USSC from terminal liberalism. Really, saving the court from Kerry appointments was enough reason celebrate his election.
Also sold the idea to radical Islam that they can expect to get their hair mussed when they screw with us and the European pussies can't poo poo us out of kicking their ass. On all other matters he's a bozo.
