Springsteen recorded it first, but Manfred Mann's Earth Band made it a hit.
Speaking of Van Halen, there's a line from "Runnin' With the Devil" that says "Ain't got no love, no love you call re-al..." One of my good friends thought it was, and used to sing it as, "Ain't got no love, no love for Korea..." And of course it DOES sound like that. We wondered why David Lee Roth didn't like Korea. I also like this joke, about three elderly guys driving down the road. "Is this Wembley?" "No, it's Thursday." "Me too, let's stop and have a drink."
