HBE,
Thank you for your siscere responce. I think it is clear, that there is not adaquate interest in a WW tournamnet or ranking system, so it is not going to happen. I would be interested in hearing what people think the best way to have such a tournament would be.

In the first WSOP, the winner was voted by the players. After that, they came up with a different way of having poker tournaments. It is in many ways a different game, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't work. I think something like this could be done for WW. It may change some strategies (just like tournament poker does), but that doesn't mean that it wouldn't be a fun game to play.

As it stands now, there clearly isn't any interest in a tournament, but if there ever is, I will be IN.

In the mean time, I don't see a problem with discussing the best theoretical tournament structure.

The problem with a WW tournament, regardless of the structure, is it rewards an individual for succeeding in a team game.

Having a secondary scoring system of any description for WW is going to degrade the games. People will start making decisions based on the current status of the scoreboard, and not on the game they're playing.

This idea is never going to happen. Not with POG as it currently stands, and the people who are here. We all play WW as a fun diversion from work/life/poker/whatever, and because it is fun. You may have noticed how strongly we all react to individuals who do something that takes away from the integrity of the game at hand. This whole concept is designed in such a way that it removes the integrity of the game at hand.

It is a waste of time to talk about this, really.

Find the AI turbo that Bobo tried to break. By far the most glaring example of angle-shooting to wreck a game.
