dont 3 bet this guy if he opens utg..... i prefer calling over 3 betting in this situation......

on the flop i would check behind in postion. oop i prefer to take it down on the flop...... if we are ahead , he s drawing to 6 outs, and we dont wanna build a huge pot with a marginal hand

Ok I think 3betting this nit, raising UTG was not the best. I should look for better spots.
I checked the flop, AK was the only hand I could get out if his range qwas TT+, AK

Turn: ($25.50) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players)
UTG checks, Hero ???

What is our plan now? Do we just check or do we try to take it down on the turn? I think he can put us on AK, AQ. Is this nit willing to laydown TT-KK here?

[/ QUOTE ]

That's a huge scare card if he was looking to check-raise with 99-KK; I'd bluff

If you go to showdown you are never good so no sense hoping for that

Why does everyone 3-bet just to do it now?

This is definitely spew, bet/fold flop because you're not gonna be good at showdown and you wanna hopefully get them to fold a midpair or AK/AQ.

I actually think pre-flop is fine once in a while, even against a tight player, because you don't to want to ONLY 3-bet QQ+/AK, as that makes you really readable. I guess I'm alone on that though. I'd much rather 3-bet 87 suited than like JJ here because it's much easier to drop 87s than JJ when he plays back at you, either preflop or on the flop.

As played bet flop. As played bluff the turn.

Yeah you have to plan your hand from beginning on and the mistake is definatly preflop. On the turn we won't get him out. I took a stab at the pot due to his low wts on the turn and he instamucked. But poor play preflop.

DO NOT BET THE TURN UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO FIRE TWO BARRELS AT IT.

IT *WILL* TAKE TWO.
