Re: Why are there more fish at Party?
[ QUOTE ]
i havent seen bonuses on P-Stars in like forever... [/ QUOTE ] There was a reload bonus at Stars on March 9. You snooze, you lose. Another reason there are more fish at Party is because there are more fish at Party. A poor player who would be a regular loser at Stars might be losing less or even breaking even at Party (and thus able to convince himself that he is breaking even or winning a little). In my opinion, there are more fish at Stars now than there were 6 months ago. But that could be relative, as I certainly think that I play better now than I did 6 months ago. Re: Why are there more fish at Party?
But if serious players know enough to know there are more fish at Party then why don't they play there? I mean, isn't this how markets work? It's a mystery to me.

Re: Why are there more fish at Party?
Don't most 2p2'ers generally play at stars? Is the reason for this just a sense of community so you can play with the people you know? But still don't see why Stars would generally attract 2p2ers instead of party.

Re: Why are there more fish at Party?
I like the FPP system on 'Stars moreso than Party's point system. I also enjoy learning how to beat good players instead of hoping that I don't get bad beated all night.

Re: Why are there more fish at Party?
Learning how to beat bad players would be more profitable.
Party offers a deposit bonus to first time players. Pokerstars does not. That's probably where it starts. And then to casual players who don't bonus chase, once you get comfy at a site why leave? |

Re: Why are there more fish at Party?
[ QUOTE ]
In my experience, there are more fish at party...but I play mainly at pstars and full tilt. That is mainly due to the swings caused by the fish. Every hand is potentially an all-in hand so the outcome of my night almost exclusively comes down to 2-3 hands. Get sucked out on them and it can be a big downer. Tilt more. Less variance at the other sites and more opportunity to make "moves" and get proper laydowns when needed. Add that to the annoying software and that's why I don't play there, despite more likely profit potential. [/ QUOTE ] So its not move up in limits to where they respect your raises, but rather the move to a different site so they respect your raises? |

Re: Why are there more fish at Party?
Stars only gives a one-time payment for referrals, so it's Party that has thousands of "affiliates" bombarding millions of email inboxes with texas holdem poker spam. You'd have to be really gullible to respond to such spam....

Re: Why are there more fish at Party?
But doesn't that imply that the people who choose where to first play by considering bonuses are more fish-like on average than the overall population?

Re: Why are there more fish at Party?
My opinion on this:
-Party has more advertising + Signup Bonus = more fun/new/inexperienced players -Stars has a better interface, & better customer service = more serious/experienced internet poker players. On a side note, I've seen some of the tightest .50/1 LHE games on the internet on Party. |
