Mr. H. I live in New York about equidistant from the two. For me, I generally stick to either the Borgata or Foxwoods when I play live. It would probably help if you gave me details as to the games you are interested in. AC definitely has the potential to get bigger games going during the non-tourney times (I was there during non-tourney when they spread 2k-4klhe). Also, there isn't much else in the foxwoods area except poker. The casino is nowhere near as nice as the Borgata's and there is much more shopping in the AC area than Foxwoods area. Also, the rooms are generally cheaper in AC than they are at Foxwoods. You also have a lot more options for just about everything in AC.

Hope it helps.

give it 10 years.. foxwoods is going to grow and end up like an AC.

CT is going to allow 10 more casinos in the area? That's the great advantage of AC, IMO: 12 casinos offer a variety of options for players and the pressures of competition to the management.

lowpockets,

Good question; I was looking predominately, (if not exclusively) for NL hold'em action.

Thanks to everyone's replies, I am now under the impression that when it comes to just the poker itself, AC is way more advantageous a destination than Foxwoods. So to confirm, if one is looking for great action, table selection, and general quantity of play for NL Hold'em, its AC hands down, is that right?

Even IF living near Foxwoods is more 'comfortable' & generally enjoyable (from the impressions I think I've read), i'd prefer to be near AC's apparent action.. the question now is around which neighbourhoods. There seem to be conflicting opinions on the best locales.. (to be expected, i suppose, since different areas will have different neighbourhoods)

Any thoughts on great locations near AC? Taking into consideration that the closer the better, but safety & shopping convenience is a big plus? (by shopping I am refering to outlet & wholesale-type stores)

Does the general feeling that AC is far superior to Foxwoods for poker still hold for games such as 2-5NL up to 10-20NL Hold'em? I know that the Borgata is looked at as the best, but I understand that Foxwoods is the largest casino in the world? How do the number of tables, and how NL Hold'em is treated, raked, etc., compare??

Basically I am trying to figure out whether the nicer living conditions near Foxwoods is enough to take one away from being near AC & the Borgata with respect to the NL Hold'em games of 10/20 and lower ... (i'm talking 10-20 minute drive maximum)

Thanks to all!

don't assume living conditions are better near foxwoods. it's colder and much more isolated. parts of nj suck, parts are very nice.

AC for games (mainly borg, but the selection is a good thing), and Foxwoods has the best living area. it's nice and laid back and not busy (which I like, personally).

but foxwoods also has less good players.. but smaller games. so it depends on whats important to you, if you wanna play bigger you can always drive to AC if you'd like b/c FW isnt tooo far.
