Re: And now... the mother in law...
My mother in law lived in a small house in my backyard for a few years. (She moved because we needed it for an office. We eventually ended up buying her a house 5 miles from us.)
For me, having her here was a blessing. I actually had gardens that were kept up. The kids were small so it was handy to have her there to take care of them, etc. I appreciated the help. (My mother in law also treats me with the utmost respect.) It was not a good for my husband. You know how your own parent can push your buttons? Suffice it to say a grown man doesn't want his mother looking over his shoulder all the time. I know it would drive me nuts to live with / next to my Mom, as much as I love her. Of course the situation is different because we had more privacy, being in houses separated by a driveway. I'm sure this will disrupt your household, so try to emphasize the good. Take advantage and get away with your wife overnight a few times. Maybe do a weekend getaway if grandma is cool with that. |

Re: And now... the mother in law...
A temporary live-in babysitter who cooks and cleans(even if it becomes only sporadically)? That sounds pretty damn good. Even if it starts to go sour, it's only a few months. Take your wife on a weekend trip if you need to get some love. You have a babysitter now.
I don't see any problems. DN |

Re: And now... the mother in law...
My mother in law is staying with me and my wife right now while we await the birth of my son. She's been with us a week and will stay two weeks after the birth.
So far, it's been fine. She goes out of our way not to be obtrusive, helps with the cleaning, etc. My wife was bored out of her mind during the day so it is helpful for my MIL to keep her company. But I'm pretty sure I'll be ready for her to move out pretty soon. |

have her watch the kids and take the wife out on a romantic date. Sex outdoors, before returning home. [/ QUOTE ] Trust me on this one. Your wife will never forget it. |
