You really 4-bet with a pair in your hand when a 5-bet from your opponent will get > 40% of effective stacks in? Why?

b/c most of the time he's not 5-betting (and when he does it's only going to be 35% of stacks since i 4-bet less than pot). in those cases i'm probably taking slightly the worse of it, but in the bazillion pots that go 4 bets pf i'm taking way the better of it.

I think 4-betting less than the pot makes it really obvious that you don't have AAxx and kills the deceptive value of the 4-bet. That leaves you vulnerable to an aggressive player 5-betting KKxx (which you really don't want right now) and also lets him play pretty well against you postflop.

I think you're better off using your position in a pot that will have some play left and letting villain think that you might be putting him squarely on AAxx than you are hammering away on a mediocre hand. Change one of the nines to a jack or ten and 4-bet full pot and I'm fine with it though.

I don't 4-bet pre, I raise flop and shutdown and c/c to river when scare cards hit or pot any blank turn. This is HU... if this was 6-max I'd agree with Iverson's line, but it's probably too weak HU.

Given the way we got to the river, this should almost always be a raise. People are giving the opp way too much credit for a big hand, and 67 could definitely call a river raise.
