I think it's lame and a cop-out. Why should he get a free pass when the rest of us had to make a tough decision?

[/ QUOTE ]

This is how I felt about it. A total cop-out and IMO takes away from being "best" man.

The [censored] part of the OP is that he's being forced to do it, and that's lame. However, if it's his choice, I think it's perfectly fine.

Agreed.

Rumor has is a buddy of mine is doing this. Pressure from fam and fiancee to have his brother be BM and he wants his best friend to be BM. So he's doing a joint thing. Anybody ever heard of this? Lame or normal?

[/ QUOTE ]

I think it's lame. More than likely his fiancee and family are monopolizing just about every other damn decision about his wedding day and every day after until he dies . He needs to put his foot down on this one.

My fiancee has 2 sisters and doesn't want to pick one, so she's having 2 maids of honor. But my brother is the only best man. We're evening out the total number of girls and guys in the wedding party though, so I guess I'm technically going to have 1 "extra" groomsmen and she'll have 1 "less" bridesmaid.

I really don't see any issues with it, but yeah, being forced into is kinda lame.

Well there's like 3 examples of it in this thread alone. I had basically never heard of it before. Relatively common I guess.

considering that weddings in general are lame, this is par for the course.

getting married in vegas was the best decision my wife and i have ever made.

we had an awesome time and there was nobody else there that we had to keep happy except the only two people that mattered...us.

Having two best men is like not having one at all. Do you see why?

I had a friend do this when his wife wanted two maids of honor. The only real wierd part was the speech. They tried to give it in tandum and it was really bad.

Your wedding is all about just doing whatever your wife wants anyway. No man dreams of his wedding day.

Thing is, the groom probably ONLY cares about this part of the wedding (maybe the food too). If you take the only decision he has for the day away, that's BS.

That is sort of true but there a couple of decisions that you have to put your foot down on:

1) Best man - you need to make sure your best man understands what a real bachelor party is so you don't end up with some gey jack+jill.

2) Open bar
