My wife to me a minute ago:
"Do you want me to polish your knob while I'm upstairs?" Our dog chewed on the knobs of our nightstands and she was staining them to hide the damage. It took her a moment to process what she said.

"To score, strangely enough" - best "To score. Strange" - an improvement "To score, strange" - a slight improvement but still awkward. (My levelling radar is going off.)
