Brad would have been much better off raising the pot, and firing a second barrel on preferrential turns instead of making some massive spewful bluff all-in.

Yep.

anyone who asked why this isnt a snap call with 400 blinds if it is with 100 must suck at nl
He puts in 25 blinds preflop
If someone puts in 25 blinds in a 100 blind game and flops a set on me he gets paid
With 400 the hand isnt even remotely similar

It seems like Phil Ivey isnt as agressive in cash games then he is in tournaments.

yeah he probably knew who he was.. and probably had limited information on his game.. but i doubt enough to call off like 400bb's deep.. there are a lot of things to consider here besides history.

Uh isn't part of Booth's infamy derived from his having played on the Cirque de Soleil guy's cruise ship for a few weeks with him and some rich whale friends... they got bored mid trip and flew out some of the crew to the Bellagio for dealer lessons, flew them back with poker tables and Booth took a strong 7 figure amount from the trip which was initially just meant to be a holiday? I thought this was pretty solid gossip and a big part of the Booth legend so to speak...

well, maybe ivey is a much better player than booth and can wait for a better spot to take all his money. thoughts?

[/ QUOTE ]

um, booth has 1m, ivey has 260kish.

[/ QUOTE ]

yeah, i meant take all his money figuritively. He'd have to double up once or twice. the only point i was making is that in a marginal situation, like ivey might have thought this was, then it might have been right not too risk his whole stack. this is kind of like in a tournament situation where you're out matched so you get all-in when you might be taking the worst of it (might be your only chance at beating a better player, etc). Either way, I don't see how my logic is flawed.

I met Brad a year and a half ago in Vegas, and if I recall carrectly, he said that he was friends with Ivey and that he used Ivey's old cell phone.
