Re: check behind or bet for value?

[ QUOTE ] Something like 80% [/ QUOTE ] OMG ME TOO So what do you typically do if you raise pf on the button with JJ, get one caller, the flop comes down KT8r, and villain leads into you. Raise? Fold? Call? Miraculous fourth option? [/ QUOTE ] Read dependant obviously. Against an unknown, I just fold. Against agro monkey, usually call. I would only raise in this spot with JJ if I thought there was some chance that I could get called by a worse hand, or if I read him for a draw, somehow. Default is fold. |

Huh! I learn something every day.
Is your default play on this flop to raise? (the posted hand) |

I'm sorry Baluga but you sound like the perfect opponent to set mine against. [/ QUOTE ] except I can get off a hand when I am 3bet. |

except I can get off a hand when I am 3bet. [/ QUOTE ] Another reason I don't like raising this flop is that we have a couple of backdoor draws, which if we get 3-bet, we don't get a chance at. |

Re: check behind or bet for value?
[ QUOTE ]
I'd like people to fear that I have AA every time I raise. [/ QUOTE ] This is my first post so take it as you may but... I could see how this would make you the perfect opponent for tricky LAG players. -Hands like 67s or 55 are getting their implied odds for drawing at your "Aces" when you are raising post flop even when faced with a lead...they are getting enough money in post flop to go set mining -Why would you want people to think you have aces...then you wont always get paid off when they flop TPTK and you do have aces as an overpair -Correct me if im wrong but I cant see how raising the flop even when you miss everytime will be profitable...you are taking down small pots when the flop raise gets villain to fold and creating big pots when you dont really know where you stand Forgive the rambling as I am just starting to think on these types of levels. Thanks, J |

Every river is WA/WB. Either 100%, or 0%. [/ QUOTE ] Never split a pot? |

Re: check behind or bet for value?
I guess this line makes call voluntary on river. And I guess you would also make a value bet if the villain checks river?
