Default Good and wierd Mariners news

Looks like Jeremy Reed has a chance of still being the starter for opening day.

I have no medical knowledge. If anyone does, how can an old injury like this be confused as a new fracture? Wouldn't there have been some sort of healing or other signs that told them it wasn't new?

Never fear- the Mariners' crack medical staff is on it.

Either they are largely incompetent, or the Mariners are the most oft-injured team in the history of sports. Especially with young pitchers blowing out their arms (although how they are used is also a factor obviously).
