i tried to pick up PLO but i dind't have any big bet experience so it was difficult to grasp a lot of the concepts. then i went back to O8, which i tried last summer, and i enjoy that a lot. it can be a little boring but there is lots of room for creativity, like making promo raises and squeezing, which is an area you excel in. if you want to get into big bet NLHE makes the most sense since you don't have to learn both a new game and a new betting structure.

oh and one more nice thing about O8: it's becoming very popular, at least in AC. last time i went, the first night i went there they had no limit hold'em over 10/20 but there are a 40/80 two-way O8/LHE going. the LHE was really bad but there was lots of O8 action from people with little to no experience. the 80/160 O8 at the borgata has cannibalized the 80/160 LHE. so O8 seems to be gaining in popularity rather quickly

stud/8 is also a good option though you relly can't play more than 2 tables paying full attention without your winrate dropping off significantly

Why do you say the long term EV of PLO is so low? are the higher stakes all pros? anyone know what kind of hourly rate is achievable at upper level PLO?

same question about stud.

Simply put, a lack of game selection at limits at which might the income might start to become material.

there are lots of 10/20 PLO games across the internet.

I would definitely pick a game that they play in big mixed games. Tourneys are lame.

You think that because you have a kid.

I don't think saying tourneys are lame sends a good message to his kid.

Open a sports betting account. Then bet on Kansas City every time you possibly can. You see, a lot of people think Kansas City is in Kansas, but it isn't--it's in Missouri. This insider knowledge gives you the edge. Good luck, fellow 2p2er.

where was the 40/80 O8/LHE? what day of the week? I was thinking of heading over tonight for a bit, and that sounds amusing.

IMO multitabling stud/8 isn't nearly as hard as multi-tabling stud.

BTW, I would go with Stud/8 and O/8.
