Re: Can I fold these sets?
You need to put in a lot of work on your fundamentals. The way you played these hands is brutal. It's almost as if you're trying your hardest to win the least against worse hands.

Re: Can I fold these sets?
agreed, that's why i hate my lines. I'm winning the least possible when i'm ahead and losing my stack when i'm behind. I would really like to hear what lines people suggest here.

Re: Can I fold these sets?
i really don't understand your bet sizes in the second hand.
if you're trying to stack an overpair, it's hideously obvious you have a set when you donkbet and 3bet the raise you know is coming. pot the flop and call the reraise. 3betting is definitely giving away your hand. bet 1/2-2/3 the pot on the turn and any raise should put you all in. i imagine you got set over setted in hand two or beaten by a straight. sucks, but at least you're looking for a better line to take here. i would tend to lead the first two streets with my sets as well. in the first one, it looks like you're checkraising so as to induce him to put more in the pot. well, he looks more than happy to comply, so why not stick it in on the turn? it looks pretty obvious you're beat though when he minreraises you on the turn so if you're looking for somewhere to fold, that's it. i probably would have jacked the flop to 50 or 60 and reevaluated if he minreraised me again. you basically let your stack get pulled into the pot in both hands instead of doing the betting yourself. take a more aggressive approach with such a strong hand. |
