Re: Ask gol4pro golf questions
i played on jr. tour for 2 years and am scratch. my answer to why gol4pro hasnt answered (im assuming he is a teaching pro) is because a lot of the problems are dependent on a persons swing and without him seeing exactly what you are doing wrong it is pointless to try and fix the problem as there may be more than one solution.

Re: Ask gol4pro golf questions
yeah i can hijack too...im a golf pro as well, although i dont play or teach anymore...as to the one question about popping up his woods...my guess is that you are coming into impact from too steep of an angle and more than likely are "casting" (coming over the top)...at the top try to pull straight down with your hands ..hard to teach over a computer

Re: Ask gol4pro golf questions
I have been told many times my swing is overly steep, that could definietly by why I hit popups with woods.
What are good drills and methods to change my swing to a better plane? |

On a normal iron shot (say a 7 iron), how open should the clubface be during the backswing? When my clubhead reaches the height of my shoulders, the leading edge of the club is perpendicualr to the ground. Is this too open/closed? Thanks [/ QUOTE ] Anyone with a handicap of <30 is free to answer |

[/ QUOTE ] seke focus more on starting your followthrough with your hips and letting the arms and club follow. you are also swinging too hard. |

Re: Ask gol4pro golf questions
its tough to change these things but...what has worked before is when practicing swinging suppppper slow to try to ingrain new muscle memories..setting tees, balls, a club, anything outside ball to make sure you come from the inside...if you get to the top and practice pulling the butt end of the club straight down it is virtually impossible to come "over the top"...for an extreme example of this look at sergio's swing..especially a few years ago...his hands are at impact yet the club head is behind his body (drag and flip i believe they call it)...

Re: Ask gol4pro golf questions
jshuttle, this depends a lot on your swing but the face shouldnt be perp. im assuming you're right handed so pretend you and carying a tray at the top of your swing with you right hand. left arm should be straight with along with the left wrist. this should keep the facefrom becoming perp with the ground.

Re: Ask gol4pro golf questions
In your opinion, what is the best ball around the greens? I like Pro Vs, but they are a tad pricey. I usually buy Precept U-tri tours, about $30/dozen. I just bought a dozen Callaway HX tour blacks, but haven't noticed anything special. Does the Precept U-tri tour perform favorably compared to these other two?
