Default Simple Fantasy 5x5: Bonds or Santana?

Straight up, which would you rather have?

Now, assume your offense is above average and your pitching is below average, which would you have? Please explain your answers.

Santana by far.

He is the best pitcher option out there period.

Too much controversy surronding Bonds. Plus we dont know how well his knee is going to hold up. He will probably still get a ton of walks but I think it's unrealistic to expect him to be a top producing hitter. There are much better(ie younger) offensive options out there.

If Bonds health holds up and he has a great year for a 42 year old - you should still take Santana! Santana should be taken in rounds 1-3. Bonds should be taken in rounds 8-12.

Thank you,

If you want data...across all ESPN drafts, Santana is currently going 5th overall and Bonds 33rd.

How so? Maybe before his injuries and before the "steriod controversy". You don't know what Baseball is going to do to him. You don't know how his 42 year old Knees are going to hold up. Santana is arguably the best pitcher in baseball over the two years. Barry played for 1 month last year. I think the answer is pretty easy. Now if you said Roger or Barry you might have a question, since the decision is hindging on Roger retiring. You might also have a question if your looking at Barry or Randy Johnson who is also older. I don't think the Santana vs Barry question is that hard this year.

Why would anyone choose Barry?
