amulet,
When he check-raised, did you think he had you beat? |

Re: Huge game. 500/100.
I guess we need amulet to step in and give us more info about villain, the table, and amulet's image. To me it comes down to:
1. Is villain bad 2. Is it very unlikely villain reraised preflop with 88/33/44 imo... If villain isn't a bad player, he isn't calling 30,000 on the end with just AA nor does he get to the river with KJ. |

How many people are at this game? It makes a lot of difference given PF range.

Re: Huge game. 500/100.
[ QUOTE ]
Amulet, Against a not particularly good player this is a scared KK prior to the river way more often than any other hand. Everybody saying he has a lower set-how often do not particularly tricky players reraise from the SB into a crowded field with middle pocket pairs? Even if you think he's doing this, why is he not trying to get paid off after his little $900 ruse worked out so perfectly and he flopped a monster? This slowplay is inconsistent with jamming up the stakes OOP with a hand being played for set value. Here's how I see this going: he has KK. He reraises and is now playing a multiway pot. He gets scared. He goes into shutdown mode, figuring he'll let you guys do his betting for him instead of getting pushed off his hand if he leads OOP and has to make tough decisions against possible raises. He plays the hand very passively praying he'll get to showdown with the best hand and when he finally hits on the river he figures you've been betting anyway, why not give you another chance? This whole passive line screams somebody who's got a big hand he can't bring himself to let go of-AA or KK. After the river c/r, AA is very unlikely-what does he think you're going to call a huge c/r with on the river you beat and why isn't he afraid of your hand despite all the strength you've shown? He's been playing it cautious for this long and now he's just going to say "[censored] it-let's try putting all my chips in?" I guess it's possible that he's been donkey slowplaying AA and thinks he has you right where he wants you, but more likely he's scared sh*tless of playing one pair for 100K OOP and rivered you. Unless you have an extremely weak image as a nut-peddling fold artist I can't see your hand being good here very often. [/ QUOTE ] Good post FF. |

Re: Huge game. 500/100.
This game was rigged, sucka, they took your 100k rounders style.
But on a side note, if he reads you for not having KK given your flop/turn play would he ever try this play on the river as a bluff. |

Re: Huge game. 500/100.
i have seen exactly 0 other hands where 1000 BBs each have been truly involved in the pot....not to mention at stakes this high, but thats irrelevant. i still have yet to see a 5/10 post where 10k stacks get in battles, or 10/20 post where 20k stacks get in big battles.
really only happens in live games |
