I noticed 4/8 is only offered online at UB. Any general comments on how the game plays are appreciated. I currently play party 3/6 and 2/4 as my main games, am overrolled, and was thinking about playing the 4/8 before making a foray into 5/10. Worthy plan or should I just go to 5/10?
Secondly, I know there have been a ton of long threads on some major problems at UB. I havent read them. Should I before opening an account there? |

Most of the problems seem to be cleared up, and UB in general is a solid place to play with good games. I guess my only concern would be since 4/8 is such an uncommon limit it may be hard to get much action...I mean it could very well be the case where the 4/8 game is actually tougher than most 5/10 games. Or it could be just the opposite, with a bunch of people playing there since it's the only one around. I think it's probably worth scouting at least, and maybe someone who plays regularly on UB can help you a lot more than I can.

I think there are also 4/8 games on either prima or action network, can't remember which. maybe paradise too.

My experience is that the 4/8 runs so rarely that it's not even worth worrying about. If you happen to catch it running, watch it and if it looks good, sit down. I'd just play the 5/10. I'd rather play 5/10 anyway.

As far as I remember the 4/8 on UB is only offered in mini blind format so it's not exactly a standard 4/8 game. Paradise and Prima have 4/8, these games never get going for some reason.

UB 4/8 also doesn't run that often, at least not when I played there. When it did, I never noticed much difference between that and 3/6, except for the mini-blind structure. |

OP,
How many tables do you play? In transition what I'll do it play 1/2 of my old game, 1/2 of the new, or some other thing of that nature. |

Danza, I play 4 tables and could probably add more if I used a HUD (I dont pay attention when I have the numbers plastered there on the screen and like to get my own reads). Anyway, I think Im going to take a one table shot at 5/10, play 2 tables of 3/6, and drop the 4th table until Im comfortable.
Thanks to everyone who replied... |
