Super Strong Speculative Hand
I sat down at this table a few hands ago, I'm in the SB. The BB is perhaps loose and passive, I saw him snap someone's weak bluff with ace high. The raiser I have no reads on.
UTG+2 ($20) BB ($13) SB (Me) ($25) BB is $0.25 I have AKs. UTG+2 raises 4x BB. I call. BB calls. The flop is 258 with two of my suit. I have a super strong hand, but what's my most profitable play...? Should I bet out, check/call, or check/raise? I bet about 4/5 the pot since a bad turn card could kill my equity... |

Re: Super Strong Speculative Hand
bet/3bet AI is fine if UTG+2 will oblige. If not c/r AI is okay though a bit of an overbet. Both actions are better than c/c on this flop.
I also rr PF here. |

Re: Super Strong Speculative Hand
Yes, to like 12xBB or so, and lead most flops HU.

Re: Super Strong Speculative Hand
I'd bet less. Getting cheeky OOP here doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, as any push looks like a FD. You aren't afraid of overs. You aren't afraid of a three-flush. I'm by no means an expert, but I think leading for half the pot sounds good here. If you do that and one or both of them call, you build the pot without risking a lot of chips on the nut no pair. You may even win the pot right there, and if a worse A, K, or FD gets there with you, you can half-pot it again and very possibly get it in a nasty reraise.
