Playing one pair on a paired board multiway pot - OOP
Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (6 handed) Full Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)
SB ($15.95) Hero ($21.20) UTG ($2.25) MP ($10.85) CO ($14.95) Button ($9.85) Preflop: Hero is BB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. UTG calls $0.10, 2 folds, Button calls $0.10, SB completes, Hero checks. Flop: ($0.40) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players) SB checks, Hero checks, UTG checks, Button bets $0.4, SB folds, Hero folds, UTG folds. Final Pot: $0.40 I was thinking of calling here but didn't know how I would act on further streets, considering I'm OOP. I know I played it WAAAAY too tight, but I wasn't really sure how I would play it so I folded. What's the correct play here? Villain was a standard tag. I probably should have bet the flop here... correct? |

I b/f for like .25-.3 here, yes. As played I have no problem with folding to his bet. You only beat a bluff and the RIO in this spot is huge.

Re: Playing one pair on a paired board multiway pot - OOP
This isn't really the flop you're looking for with Q9. Button could have anything here. You could try going for a c/r here but that doesn't have a lot of value aside from winning the pot right there. Don't bother getting involved with a play like that OOP for such a small pot. If the button calls or raises you you're probably in trouble. That seems like pretty passive advice - but I just don't like playing a significant pot here.

Bet out is better followed by bet/folding undercard turns.
As played call I guess and probably ck/call an undercard turn and ch/fold most rivers. |

I might bet like .30 on this flop, but if we get raised I'm done.
