Default The SSNL \"trifecta\" (vlc)

So in the SS limit hold'em forum, there is always discussion of pulling a "trifecta" -- a move consisting of a successful check/raise on all three postflop streets. Can't be done easily, and even when it can, you're probably not playing optimally.

Of course, the C/R is a little different in NLHE. I don't know if you guys jopke about hitting someone with a "trifecta" or not, but I submit that there's a different, and even funnier "trifecta" possible in SSNL games: minraising someone on all three postflop streets AND GETTING CALLED DOWN on all three. I thought about this as I watched the following hand unfold:

Full Tilt Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.50/$1
9 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
Hero: $118.90
UTG+1: $27
MP1: $29.90
MP2: $103.70
MP3: $153.40
CO: $105.10
Button: $135.15
SB: $34.85
BB: $101.70

Pre-flop: (9 players) Hero is UTG with 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
Hero folds, UTG+1 calls $1, MP1 folds, <font color="#cc3333">MP2 raises to $2</font>, MP3 calls $2, 3 folds, BB calls $1, UTG+1 calls $1.

Flop: 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($8.5, 4 players)
BB checks, UTG+1 checks, <font color="#cc3333">MP2 bets $5</font>, <font color="#cc3333">MP3 raises to $10</font>, 2 folds, MP2 calls $5.

Turn: A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($28.5, 2 players)
<font color="#cc3333">MP2 bets $11.7</font>, <font color="#cc3333">MP3 raises to $23.4</font>, MP2 calls $11.7.

River: A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($75.3, 2 players)
<font color="#cc3333">MP2 bets $13.3</font>, <font color="#cc3333">MP3 raises to $26.6</font>, MP2 calls $13.3.

Results:
MP2 shows Ad3d, MP3 shows AJo
Final pot: $128.5

I strongly suspect MP2 is a 2+2er, by the way. As bad as it looks, I don't think he played it all that poorly (except maybe the river).

Agreed. WTF is with the minraise with Ax little sooted? I don't get it. But that's beside the point. His river play is horrendous, and what's more, it completed MP3's TRIFECTA. "Pwn3d!!!" is all I had to say at the time.
