I think when checked to on the flop with a strong straight and flush draws on board a cont. bet is standard most of the time. It's ok to check that flop for deception but you lose most the value you could get from a hand that could call thinking there ahead. If checked for deception on flop then you failed to capitalize by betting turn or river based on the deception. There's just too many ways he can catch up to you and you pay them off based on your passive play.
