Re: The Ultimate Fighter / UFC thread
[ QUOTE ]
Guys who are able to finish and are good should have an extra leg up on the guys who rely on decisions/can't finish fighters. Okami is clearly due, so is Karo, but Machida? Imo thiago silva should fight again very soon and be propelled to a big fight vs one of the gatekeepers of the LHD. Now that's a finisher. [/ QUOTE ] Exactly. And Karo's another one of those guys, he's even more annoying because he talks so much trash in every interview. Someone on Sherdog suggested he change his nickname from "The Heat" to "The 3 Round Slow Burn." I agree. |

Re: The Ultimate Fighter / UFC thread
Otis,
I don't really know what you're arguing. I'm just stating my opinion. Josh Gross and Jordan Breen at Sherdog agree with me, if we're gonna start throwing around names. Like I said, I don't watch MMA for KO's and submissions. Just like I don't watch baseball for 15-12 slugfests or football for 54-49 shootouts. I'm not saying I can't or don't enjoy them, but that's not the reason I watch. I like to see skilled fighters fight, and I like to see how those fights play out. I don't think it's wrong to reward fighters who win by stoppage before fighters that win by decision. I understand the UFC is also in the entertainment business. But if Machida beats Sokoudjou and then beats someone like Liddell, Ortiz, Griffin, etc., it's gonna be hard not to start considering him for the title. |

I assume that's the knee KO where he just walks away? So sick.

Re: The Ultimate Fighter / UFC thread
bdk,
I'm always surprised at how few guys get clocked by hard knees like that when they shoot low. In the recent Nick Diaz EliteXC fight his opponent caught him like that. I can understand when guys fake with a strike or something, but a lot of times they just go straight for the low shot. Is it just a timing/reaction thing where the shots are just too fast for most guys to react to with a knee in time? |

All,
That last UFC sucked. So did the last Ultimate Fighter. Aussie George looked a hell of a lot less impressive than Mac did the week before. |

Re: The Ultimate Fighter / UFC thread
why no coverage of UFC on ESPN, my local news or local paper sports page? It's gotta be most popular after NFL and NASCAR.
when will it change? |
