[22s] QQ very early, push or fold?
I find these early spots very difficult and would like some advice on how people handle this situation.
Initial raiser is LAG 35/20/1.3 (filtered for 7-9 players, only 63 hands) Pusher is unknown Full Tilt Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t40 (9 handed) Hand History converter Courtesy of PokerZion.com MP1 (t1515) MP2 (t1695) MP3 (t1425) CO (t1330) Button (t1585) SB (t1460) Hero (t1500) UTG (t1520) UTG+1 (t1470) Preflop: Hero is BB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 1 fold, UTG+1 raises to t140, 5 folds, SB raises to t1460 (All-In), Hero ?? I'm not too afraid of original raiser because of his stats. Push might have me dominated but I guess this might be AK/JJ/TT a lot of the time too (AK most likely). Furthermore, both opponents might hold AK a fair amount of the time which gives me a great edge here. However, we shouldn't be flipping in this stage so it's a tough spot for me. What do you think? |

Re: [22s] QQ very early, push or fold?
when a bad lag opens the pot in this type of game, you can be pretty sure that the SBs shove range is wider than it would otherwise be. QQ is a snap call here, and depending on the specifics of the table, JJ may be close.

Re: [22s] QQ very early, push or fold?
My default is to call here. I think you are in good shape a lot of the time, expecting to see something like JJ, AK, and even stuff like AJ and lower pocket pairs if the pusher is a donk. I usually get it in with QQ but I play at the 5.50 where the donk factor is much higher. I'm not sure if the play differs much at the 22s.
