[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Seriously though, how do you A) go two goals behind, then B) tie it up, only to lose again to a team basically playing for nothing? [/ QUOTE ] They were having a good time. England were rubbish and we got what we deserve. [/ QUOTE ] What's so dreadful about this latest English footballing failure is that we couldn't have asked for an easier group. Croatia were the one quality side in a group filled with the likes of Andorra and Israel, and yet England managed not to qualify. Incredibly poor stuff. The only upside is that now McClaren will surely go. [/ QUOTE ] Sadly McClaren being clueless was a near certainty (and he still managed to disapoint). Whose next? |

Euro 2008 won't be the same without the English hooligans. At least the Italian hooligans will be there.

Doubtful many of the world's top managers. The press and public are too ruthless. KJS |

I liked this from the BBC's recap: [ QUOTE ] and what England deserved for one of their most inept displays in living memory. [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] Steve Mclaren was made English coach and we didnt qualify and played [censored]. What an earth shattering surprise. He needs to resign and the nepotists yesmen and jobsworths that appointed him need to resign also. This has been a tragedy for English football the most tragic element being how predictable this farce was from the outset. |

Re: *Official Euro 2008 Qualifying Thread*
Quite simply that was the worst performance by an England side I have ever witnessed, truly awful. Well played Croatia (what happened in Macedonia?), they looked very good. Steven 'England Captain' Gerrard should hang his head in shame, out of several strong candidates he was the worst player on the pitch tonight. As for Maclaren, he's looked clueless throughout his time as manager and continued tonight. Carson in front of James? Taking off our most threatening player (SWP) at half time and leaving the anonymous Lampard instead of Barry? I'm pretty sure the penalty was the first time Fat Frank touched the ball.
Oh well, bring on a home internationals tournament next summer to alleviate the boredom. |
