[/ QUOTE ] Call me crazy, but I don't hate the deal - if SVG wasn't going to play Ariza, Mo Evans possibly represents an upgrade at SG, and Cook may or may not be a useful 3rd big. Yeah, Ariza has potential, but Ariza has had potential for 4 years, and aside from dunking, hard, on people from time to time, he hasn't done much. |

Re: Official NBA Season Thread
I agree with Hollinger's take on it. Magic think they can make a run at it right now so they're giving them one pure shooter, and another guy who's a downgrade production-wise, but can still do some of things Ariza did while shoot the 3 at a much better clip.
Disagree with you about Trevor. He played very well last season. Even if he doesn't improve, which he should, he's already a solid 20 mpg guy. He's better than Mo. I just don't think the Magic like that he isn't a shooter. None of that makes up for making Rashard a max guy. But all seems well now in ORL, so not much to complain about if you're a magic fan. |

Re: Official NBA Season Thread
whenever Perkins tries to create his own offense, God kills a kitten. I've literally not seen him do one decent thing all season in terms of 1v1 in the post.

Re: Official NBA Season Thread
I think Rondo is an interesting fit, this team is smart, smooth, in control, but not really quick, and he's not the most heady point guard, but damn quick. Quick enough to stay with Tony Parker or Nash as good as anyone can, I would think. So I think maybe a good fit.

[/ QUOTE ] I said he was perfect for this team, and that was before it became clear (I hope) that he can consistently hit the open jumper. He did struggle defensively against TJ Ford though. |
