200 NL, AQ facing flop push.
Main villain is passive 24/6 pf, but very aggresive on the flop. A few hands ago I bet/3bet against him on a Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] flop, and he folded after raising.

Re: 200 NL, AQ facing flop push.
Fold or RR pre, due to your terrible relative position. I'd like this preflop call a lot better if you were suited.
That said, I think this is a call as played. Lots of NFD's he can have and AJ and you're almost getting odds to call against A2. |

While I usually 3 bet here with AQ, it doesn't necessarily mean it's wrong for others to just call. It just depends on your strategy. As played, and your history vs villain, u may have to call |

Re: 200 NL, AQ facing flop push.
Interesting reaction--he took the bet-3bet line off the table by pushing, although he would be committed with any raise

Re: 200 NL, AQ facing flop push.
what kind of flop were u looking for with AQo in a raised pot? what cards would utg limp with in early, then checkraise allin on the flop? which one of these can you beat? More info about him playing positions? KJs QJs combodraws possible? If he is is a good player i would put him on a set of twos here. I think this is a clear fold.

Re: 200 NL, AQ facing flop push.
I think a player willing to put this much money on the flop will give you better opportunities later, although I understand this is a cash game and you want to call in any +EV spot.

Re: 200 NL, AQ facing flop push.
I fold here too, although it's marginal. He is checkraising all in into a field of 3 players, though, so I would give him some credit for a hand.
I agree 3-betting preflop is good (as long as CO isn't super tight) and the line I would tend towards, but I think calling is fine too. |
