NL50 - AQ river action
Villain is 24-18 and we are both double stacked (me 90$ villain 89$) Comments on flop and turn would help, but the most important is the river action.
Prima Poker skin No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $0.25/$0.50 6 players Converter Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is Button with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] UTG raises to $2, 2 folds, Hero calls, 2 folds. Re: NL50 - AQ river action
Stacks would help. Assuming 100 bbs you already have 32/50 in there his line really looks like top pair so I dont see anything wrong with getting the rest in here. I dont think the turn and river improved him unless he is a complete idiot.

In a vacuum, with these descriptions, I'm betting and extracting value. Have you C/R'ed him on such a dry flop before?

Re: NL50 - AQ river action
Assuming you have somewhere around a PSB left, I'm fine with getting it all in here. I can't see him checking the river with a hand that you beat here. Shove it all in and hope QK calls you.

Re: NL50 - AQ river action
Do we really think that a 24-18 calls our flop raise with KQ?

Re: NL50 - AQ river action
as played I'd go to valuetown on the river, but I would seriously consider checking behind on the turn for some pot control. I could be completely wrong here as I'm starting to worry I don't get enough value on my winning hands to make up for the coolers.
Am I correct in check checking the turn given the deep stacks? |

Re: NL50 - AQ river action
this reeks of a typical set-spot.. "I can't see him checking the river with a hand that you beat"
just check behind |

Re: NL50 - AQ river action
Just call the flop. The only hand that you beat that isn't gonna fold (either there or instafold to a second bet) is KQ or maayyybe QJ and QJ prolly folds to a second bet and KQ might fold on a 2nd or 3rd bet too.
Just call the flop and keep his range wide...give him a chance to double barrel and such. There are no draws on that flop and his range is so wide. Really no reason at all to raise. As played I might check behind on turn due to my slip up in raising the flop. As played on the river I bet like 38. His hand now really looks like a weaker Q. I think the shove of $60 might fold it out so I bet like $38ish trying to get a call from KQ/QJ or mayybe a really stubborn JJ. |
