400NLHUCASH AT reraised pot top pair against a guy who is steaming

River: ($352) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, Button bets $366.95 (All-In), Hero folds. Final Pot: 352$ The guy is steaming because of losing a big pot to me when he made a misread. He flopped a set and the river brought a four flush and he called all his money after my c/r b b. I made the nuts on the turn obviously. So I think that against a guy who is steaming, b/f turn might be a good line to assure that he doesn't make a ridicolous bluff. After I reraised preflop, I didn't think there was any chance he would float me on ace high board, but against a steaming guy, who knows. Jack was a scare card obviously, and without a jack coming on the turn, I would probably call him. But what if I bet the turn and he just calls? What do I do on the river? This hand also shows the disadvatage of reraising AT preflop in that spot. |

I guess this hand is so read dependant that there are no responses?

This is read dependent and basically a bluff catcher. I call here a lot.

This is tough. Villain probably thinks you have KK or QQ and is trying to get you off of it. I probably call becuae of this.

What do you think of the weak bet on the turn?

kind of like checking the flop and giving him some rope

kind of like checking the flop and giving him some rope [/ QUOTE ] Agreed. I really think a flop check is best. You really only beat air on the river, but he is repping such a narrow range of hands that it's close enough to call. |

Re: 400NLHUCASH AT reraised pot top pair against a guy who is steaming
maybe a combo draw like 9/10hh or a lone J. I dunno. I like how you played it and I probably fold the river also and wait for the better spot.

Almost forgot to post the results. I folded and he proudly showed QTo. I wish I would be a calling station like I used to be.
