10NL KK - standard fold on the turn?
I've been playing straightforward, tight agressive for about half an hour on this table. Villain comes to the table about three hands prior to this following one. Does nothing out of the ordinary, so no reads on villain. The following hand occurs.
Full Tilt Poker, $0.05/$0.10 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 7 Players LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter CO: $9.85 BTN: $5.85 SB: $10.65 BB: $6.70 UTG: $9.95 UTG+1: $2.05 Hero (MP): $15.95 Pre-Flop: K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (MP) UTG calls $0.10, UTG+1 calls $0.10, Hero raises to $0.50, 4 folds, UTG calls $0.40, UTG+1 folds Flop: ($1.25) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players) UTG checks, Hero bets $0.90, UTG raises to $1.80, Hero calls $0.90 Turn: ($4.85) 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players) UTG bets $4.85, Hero folds Results: $4.85 Pot ($0.45 Rake) UTG mucked and WON $4.40 (+$2.10 NET) Does anyone fold on the flop, after the raise? The flop raise was instant btw, and so was the turn bet. Does anyone not fold the turn? I didnt want to play for effective stacks when he could have a J. But my thought on the flop was: this is unlikely to be a J, because most villains slowplay it on this level. Then again, villain could be decent. Any comments are welcome! |

Re: 10NL KK - standard fold on the turn?
I can see vilain doing this with 8x or another PP. I'd 3bet him on the flop 5,50ish and let go if he stays aggressive. If he calls and the turn is checked through I might call a reasonable bet on the river.

Thanks for the replies so far
So maybe I played it too nitty... an 8 for villain is possible, but the flop raise/turn bet was quick and I read it as strong. The reraise on the flop is a good suggestion, but since I had position I figured a turn check to me might enable me to check behind for pot control, calling a river bet like this. As the hand went, im sure we're playing for stacks on the river if I call. |

I raise this flop to about 5.75. Folding to a m/r on this flop is so weak.

I can't see myself folding this. Like someone mentioned before, I'm taking my chances going broke here.
