Re: I want a phone with a real QWERTY for AT&T
[ QUOTE ]
Curve is nice, but I genuinely believe you are under estimating the iphone. If you dont want a PDA but do want to text/have REAL internet experience on your phone you should hit up the iphone. ATT just made it so no data plan is required with the iphone if thats your thing. My friend owns a tilt, my girlfriend a treo, my other friend a curve. I prefer the iphone, and no, I have never owned a mac computer [/ QUOTE ] Seconded. I had two different BlackBerries before moving to the iPhone last month -- I wouldn't go back. Texting is easy because it keeps all of your "conversations" in one place -- like when using IM -- very slick. Internet is SO much better than on the BlackBerry -- it's not even close. |

I'm never going on the internet.
text message phone look cool. That's it. I was like 2 clicks away from an 8820 but I'll give the Curve a second look. The 8820 had GPS which seemed really, REALLY neat. |

Re: I want a phone with a real QWERTY for AT&T
Well, the Curve has GPS and it's $50 cheaper or something so I have my eyes set on it. It's very slightly thicker than the 8820, however it is smaller in LxW. Unfortunately that means a smaller screen, but eh.
http://www.sizeasy.com/ Really neat website for comparing the dimensions of objects, really well implemented. Can't believe I've never heard of it. The Curve is basically the exact size of a 5G iPod it seems, while the 8820 is thinner larger.(more "smooshed") It seems that the 8310 will fit better in my pockets, which is huge. Thanks for the help guys, I thought this was a dead thread! |

If down to those two I'd just got to a store and see which feels better/fits better. Either way you cant really go wrong though IMO.

Re: I want a phone with a real QWERTY for AT&T
Yeah. I'm gonna check out the 8820. If it feels okay I'm getting it because I guess the battery life for the 8310 is HORRIBLE.
This isn't a stupid question* I'm only going to add the GPS and unlimited text to the basic 450 plan. Can I still connect via wi-fi free of charge? *How the hell do they charge for voice dialing. |

Re: I want a phone with a real QWERTY for AT&T
If size is an issue I say check out the Blackberry Pearl. It has a modified QWERTY keyboard- once you get used to it though it's fantastic.

Re: I want a phone with a real QWERTY for AT&T
I used to have a Pearl before my Curve. I prefer the Curve quite a bit-- the full keyboard is much nicer, even after using the Pearl for a while and getting accustomed to it. And while the Curve is not "smaller", it is actually more lightweight.
