0.01/0.02 NL5 - Top pair + Nut Flush Draw in a Min-Raised Pot
No-Limit Hold'em, $0.02 BB (8 handed)
UTG ($5.93) UTG+1 ($0.99) MP1 ($1.48) MP2 ($4.25) CO ($1.30) Button ($5.51) SB ($4.99) Hero ($5.77) Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, UTG+1 calls $0.02, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">CO raises to $0.04</font>, Button calls $0.04, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, Hero calls $0.02, UTG+1 calls $0.02. Flop: ($0.17) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font> Hero checks, UTG+1 checks, CO checks, Button checks. I was planning to check-raise...I didn't think it would get checked around. Turn: ($0.17) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font> <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $0.1</font>, UTG+1 folds, CO folds, Button folds. I'm not sure I like betting out here, but I don't want it to get checked around again and I'm not sure I'd get called on the river either... Final Pot: $0.17 Is there any better way to try to get some value from this hand? Thanks, RJ78 |

Bet $.14 on the flop, 3 bet a raise.

Re: 0.01/0.02 NL5 - Top pair + Nut Flush Draw in a Min-Raised Pot
I agree with Chargers. You want to look like you're protecting against a flush draw. The flop already gave you a playable hand, so if you are going to get any money out of your opponents, you really need to lead. With luck, one of the villains will think you're trying to steal the pot with a cbet.
Also, TP+NFD is a big hand and you really, really want to get the villain(s) committed here. Granted, with 250BB it's pretty much impossible but every cent you can get into the pot is for your long-term advantage. It's always good to remember that if you fold out people, 90% of the time you weren't getting any more out them any way. There is no shame winning the pot before showdown. |
