KJs Nut Flush Draw on the flop
PokerStars 0.10/0.20 Hold'em (9 handed) Poker Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)
Preflop: Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 1 fold, UTG+1 calls, 1 fold, MP2 raises, 4 folds, Hero calls, UTG+1 calls. Flop: (6.50 SB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero... MP2 seems LAG: 39/24/4.2. I've seen him raise and cap PF with 88 UTG, then bet all streets on 52779, and also call three cold PF with A3s. Not many hands (and no notes) on UTG+1, 53/13 so far. I figure my equity is about 35% so if I'm putting in 33% I've got the tiniest of edges. The pot is small and I'd like to get some more bets in there. I can probably count on MP2 to bet or to raise, so I seem to have choices of b/c, c/c, and c/r(/c). I want UTG+1 to stick around so c/r sounds like the poorest choice. If UTG+1 will call my bet *and* call a raise then b/c seems the best choice as it can put 6 bets in the pot without my raising. Thoughts? |

Re: KJs Nut Flush Draw on the flop
we can c/c here profitably without narrowing our range so i do that

Re: KJs Nut Flush Draw on the flop
If UTG+1 will call one here he will call two, so the question is will he call one? The flop isn't very good for an EP open limp unless he is slow playing AA or something. I tend to donk this since we know we will get a raise out of MP2, but it may not be the best play. It's probably c >>> d >>>>>> c/r.

Re: KJs Nut Flush Draw on the flop
I'm going to just check/call this. UTG+1 is likely to fold if I lead, and while a check/raise might be a good line against some opponents, MP2 doesn't sound like the right target. So check/call it is.

Re: KJs Nut Flush Draw on the flop
C/r isn't productive. I think I prefer b/c to c/c because if we get UTG to call one bet he will call the raise that we know is coming.

Re: KJs Nut Flush Draw on the flop
Bet call is only best if they both call. Check-call.

What would you do if it comes back to you for 2 bets? Call I presume.
I’d bet/ call. |

Grunch-
Pre-flop: Since you are the BB, and your read says he's LAG, the call is good. Flop: Check/raise (someone set me straight if this is wrong) |

[ QUOTE ]
Flop: Check/raise (someone set me straight if this is wrong) [/ QUOTE ] Hero checks, UTG+1 checks, MP2 bets, Hero raises, UTG+1 folds, MP2 3-bets, Hero . . . Now what? You're out of position and heads up with a draw, against an opponent who is at least a little on the maniacal side. Do we really gain anything by folding out UTG+1? Is there any realistic chance that we're going to push MP2 off a better hand? If the answer to both those questions is no, then why are we check-raising this flop? If I though I could push MP2 off something like an underpair by check-raising the flop and leading the turn, I'd sympathize more with this line. But this particular MP2 is going to make sure we're charged the absolute maximum to draw if we get aggressive in this spot. |
