NL50 6max turn top two OOP
I've only been at this table for maybe 10 hands at this point and villain has completed in the SB when folded to once, other than that he has folded everything.
Poker Stars, $0.25/$0.50 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players LeggoPoker Hand History Converter BB: $32.85 Hero (UTG): $50.75 MP: $49.50 CO: $48.70 BTN: $56.50 SB: $50.25 Pre-Flop: Ac Qs dealt to Hero (UTG) Hero raises to $2, MP raises to $5, 4 folds, Hero calls $3 Flop: ($10.75) Qh 4s 4d (2 Players) Hero bets $8, MP raises to $20, Hero calls $12 Turn: ($50.75) As (2 Players) Hero ?????? Comments on all streets appreciated and definitely thoughts on how to play the turn. Should I check to him hoping he'll bet out, stick it in? Still trying to learn cash, I usually play tournaments. Thanks. |

Re: NL50 6max turn top two OOP
I can't see him doing this with a four or QQ. I'm wanting to get it in the middle especially with this turn.
I probably lean more to CRAI than shove here. |

Re: NL50 6max turn top two OOP
Are these 2.5x raises somewhat common at these low limits? As I said, I've mainly been a tourney and SNG player before and weird/small raise sizes generally mean a bad player has a big hand.

Re: NL50 6max turn top two OOP
do not donk the flop, check call. that A is ugly because KK is no longer playing along, i doubt villain raises the flop with AK. given our hand though, other than a straight, what more would we ask for, and because we hold an A and a Q, QQ and AA become more unlikely i'm willing to stack off here. some may say CRAI on the turn, but I think that not much is calling there that we beat, so i'm leaning towards c/c and donk river maybe?

Re: NL50 6max turn top two OOP
If I'm up against KK the A isn't ugly it's beautiful because I now have the winning hand. Ok, so two for the Check Raise on the turn. What about pre, this is about the weakest unsuited A I'm raising UTG here. Am I too much of a nit?

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah. I do think KK is pretty likely here. Without reads I think calling pf OOP is debatable. If you think the Q is good here, donking is a pretty low EV move as you're folding out (ie. missing cbets from) JJ/AK. I don't know how others play this against unknown but my line would have been fold pf. |

Re: NL50 6max turn top two OOP
no, i meant it's ugly because there are no hands that are going to get it in with you unless they have AA, QQ, or MAYBE AK, which doesn't play like that on the flop. so if you CRAI on this turn, only a complete idiot with KK would dream of calling it. if you check/call and donk the river, some crappier pairs might give a crying call, though even that is doubtful.

sorry, two for checking the turn, only one for CRAI [/ QUOTE ] I'm switching to c/c turn; vbet river. Good point made by other poster on turn action. Aside question. If we c/c turn, is it best to vbet river or check hoping to induce a bet as KK would sensibly fold to a river bet but ocassionally bet out if checked to? Does river check = more value than vbet in this situation? |

Re: NL50 6max turn top two OOP
Ok, yeah I'm with you guys on the turn. Here's how it went.
Turn: ($50.75) As (2 Players) Hero checks, MP checks River: ($50.75) 9s (2 Players) Hero ????? I don't see any chance of him having the flush here, so I wasn't concerned with that. You guys think I should check? With our stack sizes I think any bet other than a shove looks very suspect and won't get any action. |
